Bringing infrastructure to the agri business community

ENGINEERING DIVISION

Post harvest management determines food quality and safety, competitiveness in the market, and the profits earned by producers. The post harvest management of fruit and vegetables in most developing countries in the region is, however, far from satisfactory. The major constraints include inefficient handling and transportation; poor technologies for storage, processing, and packaging; involvement of too many diverse actors; and poor infrastructure.

We realize the need to provide adequate infrastructure facilities to the Indian farmer for it to compete with its global counterpart.

At FIL we build infrastructure for the farming community and providing technical expertise for its operations and management. A relatively new division, the Engineering Division has the objectives to provide basic infrastructure facilities at the farm level and near the fruit growing areas. This would involve setting up of small processing units and controlled atmospheric stores together to the packing and grading lines.
